Why 'Sage
Journey'
Sage means 'wise' and it's also a plant used to cleanse for healing.

Aaron Hunt earned his MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from UNT in 2014 and is a Licensed Professional Counselor. He is a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist, trained in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) at Brown University, and a Somatic Experiencing™ student.
He has been practicing therapy for over 11 years as a fellow seeker in life. The decision to face our healing is a brave decision that comes from hope but it also invites us into connecting with the story of our pain, trauma, fear, overwhelm, and feeling empty or lost at times. We must feel our wounds as they heal. And safe connection where you can feel seen and heard, is vital as you begin to make sense of your story.

Aaron helps his clients on their journey face and overcome trauma, addictions, grieve losses and move towards hope and connection with self and others.

When you are ready, book a session with Aaron and begin to interact with and rewrite the story that has kept you trapped in patterns you're ready to break.

Aaron's Sessions
Individual Therapy
Couples Therapy
Group Therapy
Aaron offers individual therapy, couples therapy, and, for men navigating sex addiction, weekly group therapy. Not always, but sometimes deeper questions arise in the process of exploring childhood attachment wounds, which may lead into conversations around faith reconstruction and identity.
Each session—whether with an individual or a couple—is rooted in the belief that healing begins in the body and in connection. When the nervous system is overwhelmed—stuck in fight, flight, or freeze—it becomes difficult to access clarity, compassion, or a felt sense of safety. That’s why regulation is the starting point for all healing work.
You’ll be invited to meet your pain points with gentleness, curiosity, and grounded presence. This approach honors the reality that many of our beliefs, patterns, or protective behaviors began as ways to survive environments that couldn’t hold our full humanity. Through a somatic lens, Aaron helps individuals and couples release what no longer serves them—clearing space for the kind of faith, connection, intimacy, and wholeness you’re ready to grow into.

Sex Addiction
Group Therapy
Get support that goes beyond establishing abstinence from problematic sexual behaviors. This group supports men as they learn about their feelings, how to regulate their central nervous system, and create a vision to become the man they've been afraid to become their whole life. Living with integrity and courage starts with begins honest, no matter the cost.

Individual Therapy
Anxiety, depression, stress, and addiction are all symptoms of the root issue - you're wounded. Aaron uses an eclectic approach that starts with learning to track your body so that you can be consciously aware of what's happening in your central nervous system. You need space in your nervous system before we can talk about strategies. Quick fixes won't work - you've probably tried them. A bottom-up (slow is smooth and smooth is fast) approach will actually teach you the skills to regulate yourself through your journey.
Couples Therapy
Aaron's helps couples slow down enough to notice what’s actually happening in their bodies and nervous systems during conflict, distance, or disconnection. Instead of staying trapped in blame, shutdown, or looping arguments, he helps couples map the patterns underneath and learn how each partner’s history shapes their reactions. Aaron supports couples in creating space for honesty, repair, and deeper connection so they can build a relationship rooted in safety, clarity, and shared responsibility.
